Angela’s Wasteland: Sleepaway Camp 3 Uncut

Howdy, campers! Presenting the poster art for ANGELA’S WASTELAND, an all-new restoration of SLEEPAWAY CAMP 3 Uncut! This movie was originally issued an X rating certificate back in 1989 so was heavily censored for the R-rated release we are all familiar with. Sadly the original elements perished in a fire, leaving only an uncut workprint VHS tape that we have supplied to home video companies like Anchor Bay & Scream Factory over the years. But, fans have not yet received an integrated footage restoration like has been afforded to many other 80s horror titles like SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT, EXORCIST 3 & NIGHTBREED.

When I heard rumors of a 4K edition, I took it upon myself to do something about it and got to work on an extensive HD restoration, blending in the extra footage in smooth fashion. Most uncut shots needed music and visual fixes. I went back to the original uncut VHS tapes from Double Helix Films to do an all-new transfer. I went back to Fritz Gordon’s original screenplay drafts to make sure everything lined up. All the gore is there, like the smashed brains from the flagpole, every extra bloody death, plus extra dialogue, laughs, and character moments. It’s a real blast!

Now, you should have gotten this edition on the recent Scream Factory 4K disc but while I’ve usually been invited to contribute material for the previous home editions over the last 23 years, this edition’s special features producer declined to involve or even inform me, so please understand I never withheld this ultimate version from that release. In fact, I also had even more new or remastered rare media to offer.

Recently I commissioned the talented Zombae Brando Design to illustrate new poster artwork, hopefully as a beacon that lights a fire under some company’s butt to give the fans what they want and release the ANGELA’S WASTELAND cut! I will continue looking for opportunities to make this happen. Thanks for your support. -John
