SleepawayCampFilms: 12th Anniversary

Today the site turns 12! On Friday, November 13th, 1998, Sleepaway Camp: The Website went live. I can’t believe it’s been that long – but I can when I look over the changes it has gone through in that time. Detailing all that would bore you, but I can quickly sum up what working on the site has personally meant to me over that time: the first two years were bliss, the third and forth years nearly broke me, the fifth year was an unbelievably positive apex, and the next five years were concentrated calm. That sums up ten years – but as for the past two years…

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the 1992 Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor has today finished post-production and been officially locked. One prime reason for starting this site 12 years ago today was to find out what happened to the forth film. Needless to say, I could never have imagined how that would turn out.

The “IV” image you see before you is part of the official poster, which will be revealed soon.

hey john, i’ve been keeping up on the site for years, and i’m thrilled about IV happening, but just out of curiosity, is it all archived footage, or did you piece things together with new stuff? i had no idea how much of the original movie was completed.

Congrats on this awesome feat, John. Sleepaway Camp Films has been a site I’ve been visiting for around 8 or those 12 years and I’m so glad to see it still going strong. We had some fun conversations of the old board and it is still greatly missed. Still a happy camper ’til I die!

Congrats my friend… I remember when I first stumbled across this site, in the early years of my SC obsession… it’s good to see the site still alive and kicking after all this time. Long live Sleepawaycampfilms, the best damn site dedicated to that little slasher series no-ones heard of. Cheers John.

  9. Wow…Twelve years…nice…best wishes on lucky number 13!
